Solergy Cogen CPV™ – Electricity + Heat
Using a patented cogeneration mechanism, Solergy captures and uses the waste heat that is generated during the conversion of sunlight into electricity. The valuable thermal energy is used to drive applications such as air conditioning, hot water, process heat, and water desalination at no additional cost to the customer.
In conjunction with its superior CPV technology, Solergy’s cogeneration system is more efficient and ultimately produces more electricity – in addition to thermal energy – than other available cogeneration technologies.
- Cone concentrator module: each concentrator focuses the sunlight over 500 times onto a small, highly efficient multijunction solar cell. The proprietary optical system provides high optical efficiency and ensures a uniform spread of energy across the surface of the cell. Active, fluid-based cooling reduces cell operating temperature and captures waste heat for use in cogeneration applications.
- Panel: each panel has a fine-tuning alignment mechanism that guarantees that every concentrator module is precisely aligned with the sun, all the time.
- Tracker system: the panels are mounted on the tracker, which tracks the sun with smooth, continuous motion throughout the day.
