EPRI to evaluate performance of Solergy high-concentration solar photovoltaic system at SolarTAC

Aurora, CO - The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) is testing Solergy, Inc.’s 40 Year solar  energy system in an installation at the Solar Technology Acceleration Center (SolarTAC) in Aurora, Colorado.

The 40 Year Solar high-concentration photovoltaic (HCPV) system uses high-efficiency multijunction cells in a modular design that enables upgrades as technology improvements become available.

“EPRI is testing four HCPV systems, including a 15-kWDC Solergy array, as part of a collaborative performance evaluation project at SolarTAC. Each technology offers potential value to EPRI’s member utility companies, and field testing data will provide important information those companies can use to make informed asset decisions,” said EPRI’s Cara Libby.

Performance evaluations will include comparisons of technology production profiles, seasonality and snow effects, and other factors. Testing of the Solergy system began September 2015 and is expected to be completed in 2017.
